Mark L. Olson, Founder & CEO
Mark is the father of Lindsay, his 28-year-old daughter, and Leila, his 20-year-old stepdaughter. Both daughters have significant developmental disabilities. He founded LTO Ventures in 2010 to create a solution for the question, “what will my daughters’ lives be like when I am no longer around?” In doing so, he saw an opportunity to put his knowledge and expertise to work to help other families and nonprofits and established a consulting and project management practice that today is the largest in the U.S. leading 9 intentional community projects in 5 states, including LTO Ventures’ own project - Autumn Hills Village - in Boerne, Texas.
For LTO Ventures’ clients, Mark serves as Project Management Lead and/or Acting Executive Director. He is a recognized national expert and speaker on housing, employment, educational, and social engagement options for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), and state and federal regulations including the CMS Final Settings Rule. He also is very involved in advocating for the human and civil rights of individuals with IDD to live in the setting of their choosing. Mark has served on the Nevada Autism Commission, Nevada Governor’s Commission on Services for People with Disabilities, and the Nevada Governor’s Task Force on Integrated Employment. He helped lead a statewide coalition in Texas in 2022 to significantly changes Medicaid HCBS waivers in Texas to remove barriers to using waiver funding in intentional communities. LTO Ventures is a member of the Together for Choice and Time to Care Texas advocacy coalitions. Mark is a proud graduate of the University of Kansas.
